In light of the outbreak of novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China, we are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide information and assistance to travelers.
Increased health screenings have also been introduced at airports in other countries, including the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a global health emergency but is still advising against any travel or trade restrictions in China. The organization is also advising international travelers to practice usual health precautions.
A number of governments are now advising against non-essential travel to all of mainland China, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and more. As of January 30, the US issued a Do Not Travel warning for all of mainland China.
US authorities and a number of governments have temporarily banned foreign nationals who have traveled to China within the past 14 days from entering their countries.
Numerous airlines are temporarily reducing the number of flights for mainland China or suspending flights altogether, such as Delta (DL), United (UA), American (AA), British Airways (BA), Lufthansa (LH), Swiss Airlines (LX), Austrian Airlines (OS), Iberia (IB) and Air Canada (AC).
We highly recommend travelers everywhere follow health and safety information from health officials and local authorities. We recommend the World Health Organization website for up-to-date information.
