Typhoon Lingling (named as Liwayway by PAGASA) is located about 162 miles west-southwest of Naha, Okinawa, Japan and moving north at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 132 mph.
The system is expected to move over Miyako-Jim on 5 as a Category 3 equivalent typhoon. The storm is then expected to remain about 150 miles west of Okinawa as it moves over the South China Sea.
A second landfall is expected as a tropical storm near Inchon, South Korea on 7 September or 8 September. There is still a significant amount of change that could occur with the forecast track and speed of this storm.
